Discovered by Edwin Hubble
In 1929, astronomer Edwin Hubble made a groundbreaking discovery. He observed that distant galaxies were moving away from us. The farther away a galaxy was, the faster it seemed to be moving. This observation led to the formulation of Hubble’s Law and provided strong evidence that the universe is expanding.
